Brian matriculated from Westville Boy’s High School in 1974 and began his career at Durban Electricity in 1976. He quickly progressed from Learner Technical Assistant to Depot Engineer, overseeing 150 staff and managing the electrical network.
In 1986, Brian joined Magnet Electrical Supplies (Pty) Ltd, where he shifted the company’s focus to Industrial Electrical Solutions, eventually becoming Managing Director in 1995. Under his leadership, Magnet transitioned towards Energy Efficient solutions and established a successful solar division in 2019.
Recognizing the growing demand for residential solar solutions, Brian co-founded Grid Free Power with Matt Pender. Brian’s role in Grid Free Power involves business development, leveraging his extensive industry connections and expertise to secure resources and opportunities.
The collaboration with Magnet’s engineers ensures Grid Free Power delivers reliable solar and backup power solutions to residential and smaller commercial clients.
